From someone on the First Time SockKnitters List:
This one has a basic worsted weight sock pattern: http://www.royea.net/sock.html This one has step by step directions with lots of good photos: http://www.royea.net/sockdemo1.html And this one has a formula for a basic sock that you can use with different weights of yarn: http://www.royea.net/formula.html There is also the Universal sock pattern that gives directions for many weights of yarn: http://www.burninghand.org/sockpattern.html Or Elizabeth Bennett's sock program where you can input your own measurements and yarn/needle information and get a pattern specifically for your or someone else: http://www.princeton.edu/~ezb/sockform.htmlYou Are Likely a First Born |

Cute huh?
On the knitting front: Not really liking how this is curling so much, yeah, stockinette does that... Thinking garter edge border might work better. Frogging and starting over!

AND I got the sweetest thank you note from my SP. She got her package right after her mother's funeral. She had been taking care of her parents and both of them died within weeks of each other. "I'm picking up my needles again. That will be my indulgence. And to start with new yarn in my favorite colors that magically appeared at my door is wonderful."
This miserable weather is making me VERY lazy. Have a manicure and pedicure later, but nothing else planned. The surprise fabric arrived yesterday and I may try to get that cut out. DONE!
Love these days off, even if the weather is crummy. Decided to stay in, so I got a big ol' pot of sauce and sausage brewing, and some other exciting stuff like laundry and a couple of loads in the dishwasher. Phil made a corned beef and some brownies yesterday, and with Tara's chicken soup and apple pie there are plenty of food options. Might just peel up some potatoes for a salad, would be good with the corned beef.
Even got a test done and posted online for tomorrow. I love technology! I post the test once, get the kids online and the test gets emailed to me, SCORED!
Finally got a pic of both socks. Love they way the stripes line up even if everyone else thinks that is anal ;) I MIGHT just wear them!
Picked up 2 skeins of Suri Merino (Content 55% Suri Alpaca/45% Extrafine Merino Wool; Weight/Yardage: 50 Grams/110 Yards; Gauge:5 sts=1", #7 needle; Knitting Weight: Worsted, color 1970 for Bobbi's Sweater. The color matches the duvet fabric perfectly. He will look so cute sitting in that antique child's rocking chair.
V's supervisor sent me a lovely thank you note for the 4 bags I made for her and a bonus check! Hmmmm, what can I do with that??? I ran into Bobbi from sock class yesterday. She is knitting a beautiful Manos sweater that I believe is from book 2 0r 4. It is knit from the corner out. OR the sweater that Peggy is making. I think it is a Debbie Bliss pattern - a bit more feminine/romantic than I usually wear, but I really like it. I believe she is doing a class or knit-a-long after the holidays.
V called and LOVED the scrubs!
We got some press for our Cloths for Katrina project at school:
And a pic of some of them:
Laurie got her scarf for Stacey:
Bobbi's head is done, he is stuffed and arms go on today.
Almost finished with side 1 of Braided Neckpiece.
Stopping by J and Tara's after class - to pick up some soup and pie. Seems Tara found a productive way to spend an icky Sunday!
An no school tomorrow - YEAH!
Working on Bobbi's head. Swatch and cast on for Braided Scarf. Laura tells me that teva durham is coming to Creative Fibers for a book signing. Also OTN:
Phil's socks
Scarf for Lauri's Christmas gift for Stacey - 2 1/2 skeins knitted up
Let's not forget the entrelac bag
AND Cloths for Katrina
Off to cut out fabric!
